Zinc pyrithione (or pyrithione zinc) is a coordination complex of zinc. It has fungistatic (inhibiting the division of fungal cells) and bacteriostatic (inhibiting bacterial cell division) properties and is used in the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis and dandruff.ZPT-as an ion carrier,penetrate cell membrane,bring proton into the cell,and take away potassium ion, such circulation destroy the ion grade on the two sides of cell membrane, lead to cell dead because the nutrition can not be transported. ZPT do not be consumed during this process so ZPT function can be lasted continuously, plus zinc has anti-inflammatory activity so ZPT has high efficient anti-fungi, anti-bacteria and anti-inflammatory activity.
It’s one of antidandruff active ingredient which internationally recognized,it has more than 30 years history which used in shampoo.
Application
ZPT is high efficient anti-fungi biocide, it’s stable, insoluble in water, nontoxic and safe, no irritate to skin and eye.

Storage
Stored in dry place and temperature is 10℃-54℃, keep the packing sealed well after used, can not be stored with strong oxidant, for ZPT-50:
1,Prevent from freezing, ZPT will be condensed and separated on the bottom of the packing when the temperature is below 1.5℃.
2,periodically reverse the packing or stir to avoid the sediment.
3,stir at least 10min.to make the product Homogeneous before using
4,add some water to dilute and make the product Homogeneous before using
