Ethylhexyl triazone Introduction and Application
Ethylhexyl triazone is an oil-soluble UVA sunscreen, usually referred to as Uvinul T 150 or UVT-150. Ethylhexyl triazone is a chemical sunscreen with a maximum absorption peak at 314nm. Ultraviolet Absorbent is allowed to be used in sunscreens in the EU, the US, and Japan, and the dosage must not exceed 5%, but the US FDA has not yet approved its use. Studies have shown that long-term use of ethylhexyl triazone will have an impact on the water environment.

Ethylhexyl triazone is a highly efficient UVB filter with extremely high absorption. Due to its very high absorption, only a small concentration is required in cosmetic sunscreen formulations to achieve a high SPF value. The polar nature of ethylhexyl triazone gives it a good affinity for keratin in the skin, so formulas using Octyl Triazone are particularly water-resistant. Its completely insoluble in water further enhances this performance.

Among the currently available UVB absorbers, ethylhexyl triazone has the highest photostable absorbance, the best efficiency even at the lowest concentrations, can be obtained in excellent purity through a unique production process, is odorless, colorless, suitable for fragrance-free formulations, soluble in polar cosmetic oils, and has very low skin penetration.
